The final days of SUMMER!!

I can't believe the final days of summer vacation are already here.  We are enjoying our last week of summer vacation...Gabe is on vacation too this week so we are spending lots of time playing and snuggling with our little boy.  I actually returned for a week of in-service training on August 15th, but now I don't go back to work until September 6th.  I was dreading the day I had to go back to work, because I knew how hard it was going to be to leave Cole.  It as harder than I ever imagined it to be...I was a emotional mess the week before I even went back to work.  Our original plan was to put Cole into a daycare; we found a great one and we both felt great about sending him there.  But the more I thought about it over the summer I decided that I wanted Cole in a home daycare or I wanted a nanny in our home.  I began my search for a home daycare because with Gabe's work schedule it would be very hard to have a nanny at our house.  My search was very successful, we found a wonderful babysitter that we love and so does Cole!!  It was so very hard to drop him off that very first day; I was bawling like a baby.  Each day there after gets a lot easier though...and he loves it, so I don't feel so bad.

Our big trip/vacation of the summer was our trip to Oregon.  Cole was amazing on the airplane...people even commented that they had no idea there was even a baby on the plane!!  I was a little bit worried about Cole adjusting to the time change, but I think that he did even better than Mom and Dad.

                                                              Cole's First Plane Ride.

While in Oregon we had a week of full of  spending time with family and friends.  I think that we figured Cole met around 60 or 70 new people that week!!

We had a wonderful week with Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Tyler and lots of other family and friends.  Cole was spoiled by everyone!!

We can't wait for Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Tyler to come and visit us for Cole's first Christmas.

Our summer was new, fun, relaxing and exciting.  Can't wait to do all kinds of fun toddlerish things next summer!!   (yes I am already planning our activities for next summer)

Fun in the Sun

I have been terrible with posting lately, but we have been having way too much fun lately!!  Gabe was off for a week and we all spent as much time together as we could.

Daddy went to a Phillies game the first day he was home.  Mommy and Cole stayed home and cheered on our favorite team.

It has been very hot and humid here...so we thought that we would let Cole have fun in the pool.  We bought him a fun pool floatie.  He wasn't sure at first, but now he loves it!!
Cole enjoyed his first 4th of July!!  We spent the day at Nana and Pappy's....swimming and grilling.  Then we went to friends house to enjoy the fireworks.

We have been having A LOT of FUN outside, but at the end of the day their is nothing I love more than feeding my baby bottle, reading him a story and putting him night, night.  Love him!!

Family of Three

On April 19, 2011 at 4:41am our family expanded from two to three.  Our sweet, precious son, Cole Gabriel has made us a family of three.  Our lives have been forever changed, but we wouldn't trade it for anything.  We are totally and completely in love with our boy.  He is the first grandchild on both sides of the family, so you can only imagine the amount of love and spoiling he gets already!!

Finally....

....the Schuler Family has a blog.  I think that I have written in my Christmas letter the past 2 years about how was I going to start a blog. Each year I promised and it never happened.  I thought blogging would be the perfect way to keep family and friends on the east coast, west coast, and those in between updated on the happenings in our life.  Better late than never.

We hope you enjoy....love,
Carley, Gabe and Cole
